Teaching Reflections of Secondary Mathematics Final-Year Student Teachers

Universities have the sole responsibility of producing teachers in most countries including South Africa. Part teacher education involves school-based experiences where student seek to integrate theory and practice. The purpose this study was explore how final-year secondary mathematics teachers’ reflect on their experiences. three-step guided reflection conceptual framework used frame study. A case design adopted with self-reflection report as data source. participants were 39 candidates registered for a course majoring another science subject. results indicated that appropriate unravel instructional challenges successes went through six-month period. Moreover, perceived impactful future teaching career, an opportunity gain experience put into practice under guidance mentors. However, significantly encountered negative attitudes towards which complicated efforts instruction all topics. With low motivation levels mathematics, topics difficult learners had come up new strategies.
